About

Most financial plans fail in the follow-through, not the spreadsheet. I built a practice — and then the systems — to close that gap.

I started in financial services in 1997 with Ashok Leyland Finance, and spent the next two decades in credit, branch banking with HDFC Bank, corporate finance in Oman and mobile-money revenue assurance with Vodacom in Tanzania before setting up my own practice in 2016. Today I work with more than 100 client families on goal-based planning, retirement, insurance and mutual fund distribution — every family with a written plan, a review calendar and a documented, suitability-led rationale for each product.

Running that practice properly means onboarding, KYC, risk profiling, goal tracking, portfolio reviews, policy renewals and claim support — all repeatable, all auditable. I automated my own operations on Zoho, Google Workspace and Pabbly Connect, then began building the same systems for other distributors, SEBI-registered investment advisers, insurance intermediaries and wealth firms.

The two halves keep each other honest: the practice tells the automation what advisers and distributors actually need, and the automation keeps the practice lean enough to give each family real attention.

Journey

Three chapters, one thread: making money decisions accountable.

Nearly three decades in financial services — first lending and banking, then corporate finance across two continents, now an independent practice built on written plans and audited systems.

I 1997 – 2010

Lending and banking

Thirteen years inside Indian credit and retail banking: assessing borrowers and funding commercial vehicles at Ashok Leyland Finance, running finance and inventory control for a manufacturing group, then managing branch relationships, controls and audits at HDFC Bank.

What it taught me: how families actually borrow, save and slip — and that process discipline protects people.

II 2011 – 2014

Corporate finance abroad

Finance Manager for a trading group in Muscat, then revenue assurance for Vodacom's M-Pesa mobile-money business in Dar es Salaam — designing reconciliations between banks and wallets, fraud and KYC controls, and international transfer settlement at national scale.

What it taught me: money systems only earn trust when every rupee — or shilling — can be traced end to end.

The practice, and the systems behind it

25 Carat Wealth opens in Bareilly: goal-based financial planning, retirement, insurance and mutual fund distribution for more than 100 families, formalised with the CFP® certification, the Licentiate of the Insurance Institute of India and PFRDA Retirement Adviser registration in 2021. The operational discipline from the earlier chapters became 25 Carat Ventures — automation for distribution and wealth firms.

What it means for you: a financial plan from someone who has run the controls, not just read about them.

What I do

A planning practice for families. An automation practice for the firms that serve them.

25 Carat Wealth

Financial Planning & Mutual Fund Distribution

Goal-based planning under the CFP® standard, with mutual fund distribution carried out as an AMFI-registered Mutual Fund Distributor — the two roles kept distinct and disclosed.

  • Comprehensive financial planning and cash-flow planning
  • Goal planning — education, home, retirement, legacy
  • Retirement planning, including NPS as a PFRDA-registered Retirement Adviser
  • Risk profiling and suitability assessment before any product discussion
  • Insurance planning — life and health cover adequacy, policy review, claim support
  • Mutual fund distribution, execution and periodic portfolio reviews
  • Tax-aware and estate-aware structuring of goals

For families who want a written plan, a review rhythm and a documented reason for every recommendation.

25 Carat Ventures

Automation & Systems for Financial Firms

CRM, workflow and AI systems designed by someone who runs a compliant practice — built on Zoho, Google Workspace and Pabbly Connect, and maintained under annual contracts.

  • Zoho CRM design and build — client, family and policy data models
  • Client onboarding, KYC and document pipelines
  • Policy issuance, renewal and claim workflows with WhatsApp and email notifications
  • AI-assisted document review and report generation with human approval gates
  • Pabbly Connect orchestration across Zoho, Google Workspace and REST APIs
  • Google Apps Script, Deluge, webhooks and JSON integrations
  • Build-and-maintain engagements under AMC, run inside the client's own accounts

For mutual fund distributors, SEBI-registered investment advisers, financial planners, insurance intermediaries and wealth management firms.

How planning works

Plan first. Products only after suitability.

The order matters. No product is placed until goals, horizon, risk tolerance, risk capacity, liquidity needs and existing cover are understood and written down.

01

Discover

Goals, cash flow, assets, liabilities, insurance in force, family circumstances.

02

Profile

Risk tolerance and risk capacity assessed separately. Emergency fund and cover adequacy checked before investing.

03

Plan

A written plan: goal priorities, asset allocation, insurance gaps, tax and inflation assumptions stated explicitly.

04

Implement

Execution through disclosed channels. Every product carries a documented suitability rationale.

05

Review

Scheduled reviews, rebalancing, policy renewals and claim support — with records kept for every change.

The same sequence is what I automate for other firms: intake forms, risk-profile scoring, plan documents, review reminders and audit trails — so the discipline survives growth.

This policy explains how personal data is collected and handled in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the rules made under it, and with the record-keeping obligations that apply to mutual fund distribution, insurance intermediation and NPS retirement advisory.

Data we collect

Why we use it

Sharing

Personal data is shared only with entities necessary to provide the service — asset management companies, registrar and transfer agents, KYC registration agencies, insurers, the Central Recordkeeping Agency for NPS, and regulated technology providers such as our CRM and email platforms — and with regulators or authorities where the law requires. Direct plans of mutual fund schemes, which carry no distributor commission, are available to investors directly from the asset management companies.
